Hey fellow China Wow'ers
Not sure if its just me but in the past couple days i've been getting very horrible lag basicly rendering the game unplayable. No settings and what not have been changed on my end.
Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem? |

Same here - big lag that swings up and down quite a bit - sometimes gets below 1000 ms in the evening. Most other times between 5k and 10k.
Been going on for about 2 days more or less - from Dec 29th I think
Went to one of those online ping tests - other normal websites ping at <50ms - but try the wow logon website url or ip address and the ping times out. |

What level and class are you? What happens when you're 70 and need to start raiding? Are there other laowais playing on your server? I also wasn't saying that you had a "holier than thou attitude."
I'm looking forward to world of hello kitty battle stadium...the FPS. |
I have a couple different characters. My main is a 70 hunter (commonly called LR) that's pretty well decked out with some nice gear, including a netherwing mount. I'm invited to join Karazhan raids each week now, and will probably move into a 25-main raid team soon. Raiding is easy, especially now that I've learned the instances. Playing a tank or healer might be a different thing however, as much more interaction is needed.
As far as I know, I'm the only foreigner playing on my server. I meet many players that speak english well enough.
Quite honestly, there is a bonus to not being able to read/write Chinese. I remember all of those pesky/annoying kids that would beg for gold or spam non-stop in the general channel when I played in the US. Maybe it happens here as well, but I get to miss it all. Haha.
I should also add that playing on a PvP server has been a much more enjoyable experience in comparison. While leveling, even in STV, it isn't too common to get ganked and camped by a max level player. Most Chinese players don't attack and kill someone unless they are a challenging fight. Nice. Last week we had a very fun 60-minute raid group vs. raid group battle outside of Karazhan. Fun stuff! |

My ping was great the whole weekend, guys. I was only 300ms and farming cloth to make red winter clothes to sell for 11g a piece. I made like 100g this whole week and played around 3 hours a day. |

Hmm wtf, then I'm not sure why still getting some lag issues. Knave may I ask what area and ISP your with? Im in Zhejiang with CNC. Not sure how that would effect the performance however as everything else seems to be working as normal.

Nekojin - I'm in Guangdong, Shenzhen - ISP is Topway. Last couple days it has lessened but not abated. Still seems high during the day and less later at night. Perhaps it is local issue not sure with either my ISP or building connection. Construction, maybe? Frankly the possibilities are many. I'm guessing like you - I posted here to see if it was a China-wide problem or local problem. Anyway - this evening its close to normal (between 400-500ms). Wish you luck getting online. |

Ping was horrible for me yesterday from 2.30p.m. until 9.00p.m. UGH!! Was running Scholo with my guild and died like 6times, disconnected 11x, and had no idea what the hell was going on since everyone was running in place. Good thing I was just getting power lvled, and we had 2 70s with us, one of whom is a Priest. I'm a shdow priest, couldn't heal or DPS off that lag at all. |

I had a huge latency as well over the weekend. Huge lag spikes and dc. I was in bg and had this guy beaten me up while I was frozen with an instant cast. Apparently, this also affects some people who are not in china. Some says Blizz is being hacked but I am not sure. However, the lag becomes much more manageable when I turned off the add-ons. |

| Post subject: Death of the ping ;) |
Hello,
I'm playing on US servers, i've been in Shanghai for 10 months. I've been able to play until the end of December whitout too many problems.
For now, my ping is around 2000 to 15000 ( ). I had a VPN connection too, but they changed the route to the VPN host and the packet loss is so high that I can't use it anymore.
Fyi,
I'm playing on Deathwing, Alliance side, mage 70, warlock 70, druid 70, priest 66, rogue 60 |

my ping at even 1000 makes it hard for me to do battlegrounds. I must hide in bushes and PAIN from far away in stealth. Gay. |

Anyone having major connection issues lately? I sign on just to get disconnected. When I am able to connect, my ping is 2000 minimum. It wasn't like this last month. |

Hi fellow China WoWers
Reviving this somewhat dead topic to get some feed back from any of you playing here on US servers. I have just had my account banned (again) for the third time for the reasons of exploitation of the WoW economy. Now I have done nothing of the sort and the only reason I suspect this keeps occurring is I am playing the US servers from a China ISP and they constantly ban my account as a goldfarmer/powerleveler with no warning or justification.
So now I am suitably pissed with Blizz and have emailed them saying as much but I am wondering has this situation happened to anyone else here playing US WoW? |

My friend tried to play wow from China but his account got banned as well. Did you buy the actual game or just try the trial version from the website? If you don't have the real game and a working credit card for them to charge monthly you are a goldfarmer. They want to make sure that its Americans in the US playing ... so at the least you've gotta pay by credit card. Or prepaid cards, but those are only available for sale in the US.
This is just to ensure that they don't get Chinese farmers downloading the game on a trial basis, signing in with "ADSFLJWEU" as a name and screaming "GET YOUR WOW GOLD AT www.iamfarmer.com!!!" for about 30 minutes and pissing everyone off.
You may have to go to HK and buy the real version and start it there, as my friend had to do. |

No I have a real account and version that is still ongoing from when I started back in my home country. Anyway it did manage to get sorted out but it took 7 friking days and who knows when the next banning is around the corner. |

So it's 3 years later, and an even larger group of us are finally back on the China servers. The China version has followed the US version closely, and we've been using using the English client for over the past month now. We're on the Magtheridon server, and there's even a facebook group for us now "WoW China for English Speakers". Welcoming even more english speaking players... |

stokamos - to enable chinese, in your regional settiings (aside from enabling chinese to type in Word or IE, for example) there is an advanced setting "Extend support of advanced text services to all programs" that you need to check. That was the missing step that allowed me to type chinese in game. Sorry this is 3 years late, I took a break from the game, but nobody ever truly quits this game... |
