Post subject: Deducting WFOE pre-registration expenses

Finally after a few months of delays we have been able to secure the business license for our WFOE in Shanghai. Anyone knows how to deduct fees and expenses that occured before the registration is done? Mostly rent, registration fees, salaries, utilities etc, we have kept the fapios. The company that helped us for the registration said it would not count toward investment, but could be deducted later from expenses, but this seems quite unclear. We are talking about 100K+ RMB here.
If anyone has gone through the same process please help Smile
Cheers,
Patrick

Perhaps you could make an agreement stating that you invested this money for the future company and register the invoices as an expense later on. Maybe. What's important is that you get a good accountant from the beginning, and ask them about this.

Thanks for the reply. Will be meeting the firm we outsource accounting to in the next few days, they should be able to tell us more about this.
Cheers.
