I'm no Trekkie but I liked "Voyager" best. You've got an ensemble that hit the ground running, great writing, and, oh, those women! Kate Mulgrew, Jeri Ryan, Jennifer Lien, Roxann Dawson. . . you can keep your Kirks and Picards. Here's to the heavenly bodies. |

Okay... I'll bite. Currently downloading all the trek movies and looking forward to the new movie!
So... yes. I'm a geek. I mean, I'm a Trek fan. |

I'll admit that I've got the complete set of all the 5 TV series at home. My favourite is DS9 followed by TOS and Enterprise's 4th season. |

Not a huge fan but I really liked all 4 of the Next-Gen movies and have also seen the first movie and part of the first season of TNG. I'm starting to sound like I am a bit of a trekkie, lol. But the series never really grabbed me that much. Am looking forward to the new movie, though, and will eventually get around to watching the other Shatner ones. |

Shatner is a somewhat I womanizer, definitely like Picard better. The next Generation story lines are much better. One of my favorite episodes is the Reiker was sent to The Klingon ship for training... |

Shatner wasn't a womanizer. His character, Captain Kirk, was. |

I was a trek junkie. I still like the TNG and DS9 TV series, Voyager was pretty good too. I just couldn't get into Enterprise. Whats the new movie about. |

I liked the original series more once I realized how forward thinking they were for their time, and those episodes sometimes are so bad they're good. Just like Fifi.
Picard definitely carried TNG, but was sometimes a bit too Shakespearian. Seasons after the first one were much better after they had removed 87 kg of estrogen from Deana, and after Riker stopped walking like a pirate with a peg leg up his ass. Unfortunatley, Wesley's testicles never dropped so they had to can him.
Both the original and TNG series were good because they had social and political undertones that mirrored society at the time. Other versions of the series were good sci-fi, but lacked depth. They were not bad, they were just fundamentally different. |

Loved TNG, Enterprise & is going thru the complete series of Voyager.. Which is really growing on me.. Must say that Captain Janeway takes no bullfeces from strangers... She is ready for fight!! Cant wait to see the new movie! Have to say that I am one of the few that absolutely loved the Enterprise series... I cant belive they cut that show short!! |

DS9 was my fave. I enjoyed TNG and Voyager but hated Riker plus Janeway was too much of a bull dyke for me. The new Enterprise series has grown on me even though Scott Bacula had me worried.
The original is a classic. It was far ahead of its time.
Can't forget Nichelle Nichols on the list of hot Star Trek babes. |

I don't like Voyager so much but I do like Jeri Ryan, Tuvok and Chakote. I think they just ran out of things to write about. I think I liked Next Generation the best. I am a trek fan. So now what do we do?????? Maybe those of us in Shanghai can meet at some ones place every week and just watch startrek and congregate. I have been dreaming for something like this because I am such a nerd...and a bit lonely here in Shanghai |

DS9 is most enjoyable if you like the depth of human drama and the shift to towards a long term story rather than just clips of short stories. DS9, because it was situated on a station, made the Star Trek producers shift the fundamentals of the story telling to a deeper character development style. Because of this, I hated it when it was on TV, BUT now that I have watched the series in order and essentially uninterrupted, I gained a lot of new appreciation for this series as it was well done and the story well told. Defintiely one of my favorites as I like character development and the characters.
And yes, I have all the series on DVD and have watched many. Favorite episode though is still THG "The Inner Light" where a probe causes Piccard to experience an entire lifetime to learn about a civilization and culture that died when their sun went SuperNova. One of the most powerful episodes I have ever seen from the franchise. |

There's a shop near Carrefour Gubei that sells almost all the Trek series. Last time I checked they had complete Enterprise, DS9, TOS and TNG.
Perosnally I like DS9 and the latter half of TNG. Voyager was pretty good but I think they could have handled the Janeway/Chakotay thing a lot better (in short, the series didn't have to end the way it did regarding those two!). Enterprise was cute, especially season 4. Too bad they axed it, justr when things were stating to look good...
BTW anybody know where I can get First Contact? I scoured the DVD shops, no luck. That is my absolute favorite Trek movie - Data doesn't get any better than that! |
