wouldn't you just take it back?
Or call the distributor (their phone number would be on the back). |

There's no phone number on the box or bottle. And if i bring it there, i'm sure those assholes won't recognize anything |

kinda like how you didn't when you bought it? Sorry, but assuming they are assholes AND asking us all this BEFORE going in to ask about it seems illogical. |

yeah.
Every bottle of imported alcohol is supposed to have on the back of the bottle (not box) details of the distributor.
Try taking it back and then complain. |

Actually, I had a trouble with them about 6 months ago, when I bought 3 bottles of wine with half-decomposed corks , and they said it was normal cause wine was french, they simply don't know what they sell. So my assumption of them as assholes isn't groundless. But now they sell fakes deliberately, and if they accept my bottle back, it would mean that they recognize they sell fakes. |

ah ok... though if a place already sold me bad crap in the past, I don't think i'd be going back.
Caveat emptor...buyer beware in this marketplace. |

The problem is that there're not so many supermarkets around, and each tries to cheat this or that way. For example, once I bought frozen shrimps, and when they got defrozen, they stunk awfully, but this was at another place. If you decide not to go to the place cause of such things, you're gonna starve, you should get food somewhere finally. |

i am not trying to hijack this thread ... so if u want to know a good local ktv just go to the recreation and nightlife thread. anyway all i am saying is that most places in china would sell fake liquor. the more popular the liquour brand the higher chance. so if u really want to avoid drinking fake whisky just order something more expensive. the demand is smaller and thus there is no incentive to make fake liquor. alternatively u could bring a bag of your own liquor to the clubs and drink there. just pay them for their liquour and drink your own. this is what everyone does in guangdong |

With all this talk of fake liquor I could be slightly ignorant but why don't you just go to the Chinese liscensed Tobacco and Alcohol places in well known streets like Nanjing?
I've bought about 3 bottles of Johnny Walker thus far from them and even 1 from a local store. I know what Johnny Walker smells and tastes like because I've been buying it for years and its not fake.
How come so many people seem to be having these bad ass experiences? |

here's what i'd do.
1) Name the supermarket so we all know
2) Go back to the shop, buy the same whiskey, open it in front of them and show them that it is fake.
3) If it does not have the distributor details then go to the Liquor Authorities and report. Even in China they take this quite seriously. |
