| Post subject: All iPhone unlock, no *Sim Required. Unlock ANY iPhone now. |
Its a little complicated at the moment, but now its possible to completely unlock any iPhones (even the new 16G ones) in software.
Method below for those who are interested.
If you want someone to help you do this, I can assist, see the website www.iphonesim.cn for details.
Lawrence's instructions for 1.1.2OTB and 1.1.3OTB (and anything else < 1.1.4) unlocking
Contact:Email: lawrence@iphonesim.cn / Web: http://www.iphonesim.cn
Or if in Shanghai - 13901 802 269 during normal business hours.
Instructions:
Take ANY phone
Upgrade to 1.1.3 (via DFU mode - Hold Power+Home, let go power on reboot before apple, wait till
second beep, let go home).
Wait for install.
Use iPhuc if stuck in DFU mode*(see bottom for iPhuc instruction)
Downgrade to 1.1.1
Use iPhuc if stuck in DFU mode*
Jailbreak 1.1.1 - *#301#, 0, hold, decline. contacts, url: prefs, i.unlock.no or jailbreakme.com
***WHILST IN CRADLE CONNECTED TO COMPUTER**
Prefs: enable wifi, disable autolock.
jailbreakme - install appsnapp (REMEMBER, CRADLE CONNECTED TO COMPUTER OR DOESNT WORK!)
Post JailBreak
Install FreeBSD
Install OpenSSH
Install Pureftpd
Install Octoprep
FTP to network ip of phone. (Settings, General, Network, Choose current wifi)
copy gunlock.rar file over. Get gunlock from www.iphonesim.cn/
ssh to phone ( root / alpine) via computer SSH
launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
then terminal (ON PHONE)
chmod +x gunlock
gunlock secpack ICE04.02.13_G.fls
(should see a success at end, if not stop and let me know.)
launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
then upgrade to 1.1.2 in iTunes (shift upgrade, choose 1.1.2)
then jailbreak 1.1.2
Finally - all good, and usable without a *sim.
Can also upgrade to 1.1.3 in the usual (hacked way), using the 1.1.3 prep and upgraders from here,
and then jailbreak using current methods.
*iPhuc DFU mode
cmd setenv auto-boot true
cmd saveenv
cmd fsboot
I'll also offer this service to those who want it in Shanghai.
So, as of now ANY iPhone, ANY firmware, ANY status (bricked or not) is unlockable for normal use without any hardware at all. |

Where is the best place in Shanghai to get an iPhone and what should I expect to pay. I have one in the states but left it with a friend so they could use my minutes and because the company would supply me with a phone when I got here. I had used the iPhone overseas with the AT&T service but got stung on the overseas service. Unfortunately the phone I received is an old Nokia that I can't stand so am now thinking about buying my own phone.
Thanks in advance,
Greg |

I've now made a repository source for some of the more useful day to day stuff I install.
Add iphonesim.cn/rep to your sources, and install stuff from Add Chinese
Also, the unlock is now scripted via installer, so its a lot easier.
Files for unlocking (eg iTunes and iPhone Firmware versions) also on the site.
Site is local, so good speeds for downloading
http://www.iphonesim.cn
(I also sell iPhones)

GPappy, the current price for a 8G iPhone seems to be around 3800-4000RMB. |

You charge 4350 for a new iPhone ? ? This costs $400 in the US? Why is it so expensive ($600). |

@progolfero.
If I could buy them for $399, I could sell them for cheaper, but, this isn't the USA, and my buying price is substantially higher than that.
I also have invested quite a bit of time in learning how to hack them correctly.
@szwliew
Don't use AnySim, its ****.
You want to use a IPSF solution, as thats the best method.
http://www.haklabs.com/2008/the-perfect-ipsf-unlock-clone/
I'll be putting up the Zibri hacking tools shortly also. Those automate the upgrade / downgrade process so its easier to fix the phones initially. |

Has anyone tried the Zibri update? I am sitting on a unlocked 1.02 iphone and have not updated it because I was worried about bricking (why play with fire). |

If you have 1.02, you probably unlocked with the ancient AnySim.
Before you do anything, you'll need to virginize the phone.
Add i.unlock.no to the installer sources, unlocking tools, install virginizer.
Then upgrade to 1.1.1, jailbreak etc.
I'd avoid AnySIM like the plague - it causes more trouble than its worth, just do the IPSF unlock I linked to above. |

@szwliew - If you hang on, i'll put a BaseBand 3.9 compatible version of the unlocker up.
@Action - you'll still need to virginize, then run the unlocker.
It doesn't really matter what you do now, as you can go back up / down on any version now.
So if you screw up, restore 1.1.3, and start again.
(ZiPhone is under Files / Jailbreak)

Its unlockable.
Bootloader is 4.6
(Based on the solitary one I've hacked so far).
I've put the Zibri 2.0 version on the iphonesim.cn site - makes hacking the phones a lot quicker.
I did 2 1.1.2 and 1.1.3's today in under 10 minutes. Used to take about an hour.
Now its a matter of restore to 1.1.3 so you have a clean slate to start from, then downgrade the bootloader, then active and jailbreak all in the zibri software.
Fast... |

Ok. The rumor was that there is a bootloader on a 16Gb, which is not 4.6 |

you will be charged by China Mobile for the data usage so you need to make sure you are on a good data plan - the iphone reallyuses up heaps of data quickly. I would suggest at least 40mgs for light internet/email usage. |

I'd definitely 2nd paying more for GPRS, I got killed for 1200RMB, a friend got killed for 16,000RMB.
If we paid 100RMB, we'd be fine...
50RMB=400M I think. 100RMB=1G a month (have to check on the figures though). |
