latest address for work permit?

Post subject: latest address for work permit?

I have to renew my work and residence permit in 3 months. Can anybody tell me where the new office for doing the work permit is located now? Can't find it here and I've been getting a lot of confusing (and contradictory!) information off the web...maybe from expired sources.

Alternatively, what is the official website for the Shanghai Labor Bureau? I know that if it's an extension as opposed to a new application, the requirements are different.

PS I have to apply by myself, there's no HR dept in my company, otherwise I won't have to go through all this @#$%#

Here is the website for the work permit: www.83666.gov.cn
and the renewal form can be downloaded at: http://www.83666.gov.cn/english/forms/index.htm

I was just there and cannot remember their address exactly, but I believe its 288 Wusong Lu on the 2nd floor.

They're still located in Pudong at 1500 Minsheng Lu.

Are you first working for a company or u are self-employed?
In the first case, then why u have to bother with it, let HR do it for you. If second case then take a Chinese friend with you (You can't beleive how much easier things go when you go with a "local" Wink
