| Post subject: What SERIES ? |
There's a movie thread, but no real place for series yet. Series are what we survive on - movies are ok once every now and then, but there's nothing like developing both plots and characters over a number of shows. Basically this is where people should look when they are looking for something to keep them going for the next month or so.
====================================================================== =
I'll begin
I've just finished with series two of the wire. Series one was ok. But friends have raved - so I got the 2nd one. It was enjoyable, an improvement on one and certainly made me want to watch the third season. The characters have developed well in it and will be interesting to see what happens with the bow tie dude.
7.5/10
--
Prisonbreak Series Three. Ok, so I've downloaded this from the net - not seen it in the shops here yet. I really enjoyed this series after a dissapointing second series. Yes the beginning is slightly perplexing, but it goes back to its routes.
8.5/10 |

Reaper
21 year old finds out his parents sold his soul to the devil and then has to work as a bounty hunter for him.
Absolutely hilarious, if you like My Name Is Earl and/or Dead Like Me, watch this one !!!! Unfortunately one that is probably going to be cancelled soon, not mainstream enough...
Dexter
Now that one's a smasher and I mentioned it a couple of times in the movie thread already. Guy that works for the Miami Police moonlights as a serial killer. Brilliant, dark humour , and a lot of twists....More exciting than the '66 world cup final.... |

Hustle
Just started to watch season 3, Great British show set in London. About a gang made up of 5 con artists who all possess unique skills. Their aim is to work the long con on the bad and greedy. Different storyline every show. Catchy music, likeable characters, and quite funny in parts.

Knight rider.....
Classic.
Great car stunts, David Hasselhoff in tight jeans and cowboy boots, and ladies that do him the first night they meet.
I give it a 9/10 |

Raved about this before - Life on Mars - from BBC. A spin off is now on called Ashes to Ashes.
Also can't go past Deadwood (except if you get offended by "colorful" language - but script is outstanding). |

"Twin Peaks"
"It's like I'm having the most beautiful dream and the most terrible nightmare all at once." - Once a year, preferably with someone who's never seen it. All the superlatives still apply. The grandaddy to everything offbeat from "The X-Files" to "Northern Exposure" to "Lost" to "House." It slipped a few cogs in the second season but was still light-years ahead of anything else around, and still is. The finale was the greatest pie-in-the-face to commercial TV that corporate broadcasting has ever seen.
"Pee-wee's Playhouse"

Jericho... Sofar not as good as the first season, but I'll give it a chance.
Also started watching the new Terminator series. Not too bad. |

Went through all 4 seasons of House.
Then 3 seasons of Family Guy.
Now on the US version of The Office.
Recommend them all. |

Prison Break series suck. After watching the first 5 or 6 episodes of season one, I couldn't bear it anymore.
Read my post "About Prison Break" and you will see.
It's a mindless stupid show. |

Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, 11/10 - Excellent Documentary - Support our troops!!
NCIS - All Seasons, 9/10 - Always watchable.
Ashes to Ashes, 7/10 - Not as good as L.O.M, but Keeley Hawes is gorgeous!
Dexter - Series 1 Episode 1, 8/10 - Look's promising.
The Last Enemy, 9/10 - New BBC Conspiracy Thriller.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Series 1 Episode 1, 7/10
Shameless, Series 5 - 3/10 - Crap characters, losing its humour and needs to put to bed!
Rescue Me Series 3, 9/10 - Excellent.
LOST - Series 4, 7/10 - Confusement all round.
Can't watch Prison Break because of the mid-season strike |

YorkshireKing, I've never seen any of those. Well, ok, a few episodes of Lost...
So I guess I'll throw out some other ideas:
House is good. I'm addicted to Entourage (HBO). Two and half men is good for laughs. |

Flight of the Conchords - Hilarious deadpan comedy about two poor New Zealand aspiring rock stars trying to make it big in New York.
The ITCrowd - Offbeat, surreal slapstick about two dysfunctional geeks who share an office with a frustrated single woman and a goth |

Greys Anatomy (7/10)
House (7.5/10 but really surprised how they can keep going with 4 seasons - how many unusual medical conditions can people have!) |

Curb your Enthusiasm - series about the Creator of Seinfeld, Larry David. Awesome, sarcastic, dark humour series. You need to watch that. The guy is nots. Very Entertaining
Heroes - a bit behind I know. But it is still fun
Scrubs - fun TV show about med interns at a Hospital. Bit zynical at times, bit serious at times. Very funny though. Watched all six season. Season one is a bit lukewarm but get's better every season
X-files - no need to say anything. Classic but I like it |

Ridley and Tony Scott's "HUNGER"
It like watching red shoe diaries and the hitchhiker at the same time.
