Yeah.....wish it was more reasonable so we can go more often.........
Nasi Lemak is about RMB48, Chicken Rice RMB58....
I used to buy frozen Roti Prata from Carrefour when we lived in Beijing but so far have not looked in the Gubei Carrefour frozen section yet. Anyone know if they have any? I will look when I get a chance and post here if I find any. |

hautumncloud: yah yah..Maverick. I fried it on a pan...once done, put a slice of cheese in between and you'll have Roti Cheese.
sometimes I put egg, you'll have roti telur.
essen: had Japanese buffet last Saturday, wah lao....LS whole Sunday. Lucky i managed to 'close' it and finished the Argentina vs. Australia game. |

No, no curry inside the roti prata package but you can get the microwaveable curry in Carrefour as well. They are vacumn pack not refrigerated but ok for a fast meal to curb the cravings LOL. Or buy the spice curry package and cook the curry yourself if you have more time to spare. |

Fried one Maverick roti prata up today - it is actually good; much like the ones served in Orang3 actually except Maverick has Spring Onions. |

For eggy it is NOT good, for me, it was good. So you will have to try it yourself to see if you like it or not. Its only RMB6 for 5 pieces
We are talking about the frozen roti prata Maverick brand of course. |

Frozen prata (add a drizzle of oil before pan fry) served with yeo's canned chicken curry. Brings me back to good old SAF days at Tekong.. |

sorry for repeating if you already know about this- but Malaysia day on 31 Aug-Sun. Fusion restaurant @Songshan Rd doing buffet (i think) 100 RMB includes one tehtarek or beer and freeflow soft drink. i think it's all you can eat. from 12 to 8 pm.
"Lucky draws to be sponsored by Fusion Restaurant and Montpelier Group. To avoid wastage of food, will appreciate RSVP at 6385 3906 or 135 85897200"
better call to ensure a place. |

There is a Lau Pa Sak at Gubei Carrefour Food court on the first floor. Apparently their Hainan Chicken is their signature dish. They also have laksa, mee goreng, prawn mee etc...any comments? I hope to try it out next time I am there. |

And if you put both egg and cheese?
Breakfast.
Especially after running out of the frozen packages from SG and
having to make do with the selection from Carrefour. |

Since this hasn't been reported. I went to try Prima's Kitchen at Metro City 3F last week, in hopes that their incredible laksa chef is back after my 2 months hiatus in Shanghai. Lo and behold! It's back. The Laksa which I once claimed best in Shanghai is back. And this time, they offer the yellow noodles option too.
Pretty darned happy really, coz it's Laksa that I would consider pretty good if it were in Singapore. Go have a try if you haven't. Prima's Kitchen, Metro City (Main building, the globe) 3F. 美罗城,徐家汇。 |

Just checked out Orang 3 on Saturday night, was very good. Guess that becomes best Malaysia food in SH so far.
Owner there was very nice so we got to try many different dishes. You cant believe I went back there again on Sunday, keep eating the same food for 2 days! haha...yeah...it's really that nice except really pricey! Should take a break from that now... |
