| Post subject: Applying for F Visa after holding Z Visa and Leaving country |
Alright, so this might be kind of a tricky question, and I'm hoping it won't be a big deal, but you never know.
Alright, I spent the last 2 years in Shanghai, and the last year I held a z visa in Shanghai, I left Shanghai on November 7th after leaving my job and came back to the US. My Z visa was good until April 2nd 2008.
Recently, I just secured another job that will be based out of Shenzhen for the first 2 months, and my company extended me a letter of invitation for a F visa (I'm in the US btw)
Knowing all of this, will there be any complications with getting the business visa because my Z visa doesn't expire until April 2nd? Or when I left my job and returned to the US does that automatically "expire" that visa? Or, can the Official at the consulate cancel that Z visa and issue the F if that is not the case?
My company has told me that they spoke with the Chinese government in Shenzhen and they said that they can transfer my F into a Z once I get there and have all the proper documents (I'll take the med exam there, and I've been through this process twice so I know what it requires.)
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. |

they should just cancel your previous visa and you will be on the new F visa. No big deal |
