You could always try the Science and Technology Metro station. It is full of fake and copied goods. Be prepared to barter!! |

Yeah, go to the Science and technology Metro station. It's huge and they have a good selection of everything. Do NOT go to market at the intersection of Nanjing Lu and Chongqing Lu. The vultures there will rip you apart. A very unpleasant shopping experience. |

I used to really like going to the JinAn Xiao Ting right behind the JiuGuang department store....It used to be really quiet, and NOBODY grabs you. There are store owners who sit on their stools eating sunflower seeds (and spit out the shell )on themselves. They don't have a ton of "fake" stuff but its got lots of hats and accessories and everything.
Howeve I went this Sunday and it was PACKED. So I don't know...
I agree with Gazza I hate the one on Nanjing Lu and Chongqing lu, vultures!! I'm Chinese though, so I have a little easier time dealing with them (sometimes) and I just say I came yesterday and bought the same thing for X price so I'm not wasting time haggling with you give it to me X price if not the bye bye no ok bye then.
If yo want a quiet one, try the first floor of the Pearl market on Hongmei lu next to Xiao Nan Guo. I guess because things are a bit slow there, they're willing to go lower in price. We wanted to pay 250 for a bunch of things, they started at 680, we walked away, and they just kept yelling until it got down to 180 so we had to buy it |

I've been to the one on Nanjing Lu. I loathe the vendors there. I am Chinese, and my customers are foreigners. I bargained hard for my customer.s And The vendors there insulted me!!! Bad experience.. Well, it could be happen anywhere in Shanghai... |

OK...I will be the lone voice of dissent.
I prefer the Nanjing Lu.....but start at the top floors. Bring a sense of humor (No "u" in This word!), and bargain like crazy.
Personally...think the selection and variety is better there. Bring my guests all the time. |
