Post subject: Housing Opinion near K Wah Centre

I am moving to Shanghai in a couple of weeks and want to live fairly close to my office (near Huai Hai Middle & Shanxi Rd.).
Any recommendations on housing (compounds or not) in the area? The wife and I wanted to stay in the ~25,000 RMB/mo bracket.

Try Xin Le Rd behind DongHu hotel. Also on Shaanxi Rd, opp the Moller house is City hotel - may have serviced apts.

There is a housing complex on the corner of Fuxing Road near Xiang Yang Road. or if you're into the more rundown Chinese style place (though some are done up really nice inside), there are many along Fu Xing road. No idea of the prices though. Also that whole area south of the KWah seems to be have a lot of construction going on.

There are lovely old houses in xinkang garden. Just 5mins away from kwah centre. You should check them out. Quiet. We live in one of them. Changshu mtr station just a minute away.
