Is the best method to get rid of them.

I taught my boyfriend "zou kai, zou kai.....taaa maaa de GUN KAI!!!!!"

with perfect intonations and intervals of words.
But he hasn't had the guts to actually use it on beggers tho....

I do not give money to beggers. On one occasion a friend with me gave some money to a deformed begger and as we walked past later in the day the begger was quite proud to show us the ciggerettes he bought with the cash.
I do often give food though. There are some places where there are a few beggers and they actually look homeless and handicap and in need of money or food. So i usually buy 10 quai of sausages or corn and give it to them as i walk by. They really appreciatte the food... I have also had another experience where i offered a begger to come with me into the local lawson to buy some food but they refused demanding the money only!!! i can tell you they never got anything out of me.
One thing i am really against is using children to beg. Especially late at night in winter. I was disguisted to see toddlers dragged around early new years morning in the freezing cold. Giving money to them is supporting and encouraging them to use there children this way, instead i would tell them what i thought and give food for the child and usually watch them eat it... don't know if it does much good but atleast the child is getting something out of it!
