Post subject: Looking for Wakeboarding mates

The lake is nice and warm now. The boat's wake still a joke, but the stoke is the same nevertheless.

Fellow rider here looking for other wakeboarders or anyone keen to try to ride together and load up the boat for a bigger wake.

Approx 40km away at Dianshan lake, Qingpu. Saimeng watersports club.

Not too pricey.

PM me for more details

Anders,

Nice hearing from you mate. I will send you an email with contact details.

Seoul is a nice place to ride. Very close to city and acessible. Did u had a chance to check out those shops in the basement of Doosan in DongDaeMun selling all those fancy wakeboard stuff? Very interesting place to visit.

Any other guys here keen to join us, drop me a note.

Hi fellow wake boarders!,

great ... another wake post! I've just started wake boarding with
a group of kiwi's. We go down to nine dragons mariner about 1 1/2hrs
south of Shanghai ... the mariners big enough to make some small runs
and good for practicing. We have 4 different sized Rhibs which do the job.

We can provide boats and transport down to the mariner but depends on whether crew
is available. Otherwise we'd like to try out several other locations with you guys.
.... and if anyone is keen to go during
the week that would be awesome too. Im only a beginner but I love it...

Also Bert could you give me more detailed address of the doosan dongdaemun
wake shop? is that in Hongkou? I need spares and more equipment.

cheers. James

Hi James. Nice to see more wakeboarders coming in here to network.

Surely I will hook up with u to ride this summer.

Sorry mate the Shop I'm talking about is in Seoul, Korea. Cos anders mentioned about riding there. There isnt any pro shop here in Shanghai selling wakeboard equipment per say.

Keep in touch.

Hi,

I just moved to Shanghai from Singapore about 4 months ago. Used to ride in Singapore but haven't been for almost a year now.

Looking for place and people to ride with in Shanghai. Would be great if I could join you guys if you are going out on a weekend.

Can I rent / borrow boards and bindings at the place you ride at? I left mine in Singapore.

Evie

Hi Guys,
I've never been wakeboarding, but I'd love to try. I've been snowboarding for 10 years and also just started dirt-surfing in april. So why not wake-boarding? I'm not scared of dirty water... Could I borrow some equipment and give it a try next time you go? PLLEEEAASSSSEE! Or is this a boys-only kind of activity?

Hi Evie & Ponzonia,

Nice to hear from you both. We have been wakeboarding every weekend since May 2008. I shall send via private mail with contact details.

Doesnt matter if you are newbie or pro rider. We are just a bunch of guys doing it for fun. I have a a few boards with various sized bindings too so no worries about equipment. Will be glad to let you both use them till you get your own ones here.

Hear from you both soon.

Hey guys,

I'm in Shenzhen right now but will be coming to Shanghai in the middle of next week. Just as Evie I came from Singapore where I've been riding quite a bit. I would love to come along with you guys sometime! Btw, I saw some (pretty old) news postings on different wakeboard/waterski sites about competitions in ChangShu. Do you know if there's any riding opportunities there?

Regards,
Erik

Nice hearing from you Erik!

You would be very much be welcomed to join us if you do travel to Shanghai. I don't quite know about Changshu, it was used once before as a venue for some ski competition years ago. Not sure if there's any operator there now?

Other places I know of to wakeboard in China are namely in, Changping (Beijing) and Zhaoqing (Near Guangzhou). PM me should you need contact details to these 2 places.

While in Shanghai, there's of cos Dianshan lake where I go to. Also JRCorn in this forum also organize weekly riding at the 9 Dragon Marina in Zhejiang too. You can write to him to find out more.

Your best bet since you live in Shenzhen, is to hook up with the guys from Hongkong who ride regularly in Dongguan and Shenzhen. I have never join them, so I dont know the exact address to go to. Do a search on it and I'm sure you can get in touch with those guys.

My crew ride every saturday mornings each week, so anyone keen to give it a try is welcomed to pm me for details.

Regards,

Bert
