Post subject: Help!!! ..Visa, workpermit and dependent question..

Thanks for any help...here is my situation.

I have a job with the American school SAS in puxi....I am a teacher. My wife has a job offer with another company(large multinational), based in Germany but she will work out of Shanghai and has a local contract. My school is doing all my paperwork.

Can she come with me as a dependent and them switch to get her own work permit once we arrive in shanghai? Does she even need a work permit?

Also should she wait until the Olympics are over and the rules relax abit? Thanks for any help!!!

Yes, she definitely needs a work permit unless you wish her to get caught in a raid and deported.

You won't have to wait until after the Olympics. Work visas are still relatively stable and your employer will get it for you.

She can come as a dependant and later switch.
