| Post subject: residence permit of more than 1 year? |
just curious.. is there a residence permit of more than 1 year? I came across a couple of bank credit card requirements for foreigners that states your residence permit should be valid for more than 1 year..
I thought the residence permit is valid for 1 year only. How can I get one > 1 year?
Getting a local credit card seems the toughest experience in China. I got declined twice now (China Merchants bank, Pudong Development bank). is it easier to get a credit card through foreign banks with local branch here like Citi, Standard Chartered? Thanks. |

GM/viceGM's of MNC's routinely get longer residence permits. even of non MNC's a 2 year permit is not unusual.
have fun applying for a credit card. Ask Underho about the chances... or just look it up on th site as ite been discussed many times. |

Citibank will not issue their own credit card. They have an exclusive contract with PuFa. Same with HSBC and Hang Seng.
Yes, BankComm usually requires a 2-year residence permit. Given that BankComm gives credit to practically anybody, if you can't get a credit card from BankComm you are SOL anyplace else. |
