| Post subject: Laundry service in Jingan area? |
Hello everybody,
I'll be living in the Jingan area (on Kang Ding Rd) for about one more month, and I was wondering if anyone could suggest an economical, reliable laundry service? I do not need one that speaks English.
I read an old threat that suggested Sophisticated Cleaners. I went there last week, but was underwhelmed. While their bulk laundry service is okay, I was irritated that they refused to include anything besides underwear, socks, and T-shirts with my bulk laundry. They charged extra for jeans, collared shirts, etc., and their prices are not very reasonable for those items (about 18-20 RMB apiece, as I recall).
I briefly spoke with a worker at Fornet on Yan Ping Rd, and that place sounded pretty decent, but I forgot to ask whether they did bulk laundry. Anybody know about Fornet? What about other places? Suggestions?
Thanks! |

I use the one called "Xiang Wang" (Elephant king) on Wu Ding Xi Road. Very close to a wet market. But I never did bluk laundry so I dont know about this. I sometimes send some winter clothes and my dogs' beds for washing in their shop. They seem to be good. If there are more than 3 pieces they will come to your home to pick them up. And you just need to call and ask them to send them back in about a week.
A winter jacket is about 30RMB I recall. I never used any other laundry shops here so I don't know what to compare to.
If you want to try, here is their websit www.xiangwang.com.cn
Shop address: 1142 Wu Ding Road. phone: 52281075 |

^ Are you guys talking about dry cleaning service? What is "bulk laundry"? If it's normal washables, why not just throw them in a washing machine yourself? |

Yes, I'm referring to normal washables when I say "bulk laundry." I can't throw them in a washing machine myself because I do not have one here. As I will only be here for one more month, I see no point in buying one. |

I see. I wonder if there is a coin laundry place in Jing An, or Shanghai as a matter of fact. I've never seen any. |

Yeah, my understanding is that China isn't big on coin-operated laundromats. At least I've never seen one here. |
