Post subject: Camera equipment

Hi

I noticed a post asking about Shanghai vs HK prices. Very interesting.

But I'm new to the city and don't know anywhere. Can someone please tell me the best place to buy camera equipment, specifically lenses for digital SLR cameras (Nikon)?

I don't know if there's a specific shop or area to go to...

...also, I don't know the local language - is that likely to be a problem when purchasing equipment?

There is a huge camera shop here in Shanghai, about 4 floors of camera equipment. They also have shops that work on fixing and cleaning cameras

Shanghai Xingguang Photo Gear Mall, No. 288 Luban Road, Luwan District

I bought my Pentax DSLR there nearly 1.5 years ago. Prices were fair, at least close to the American Prices.

Don't forget to ask for a discount, or haggle. I recommend finding what you want on the net first, converting that price to RMB and trying to get it for that price.
