Post subject: Nikon D50 - Auto focus is tempermental

My D50 is starting to suck at autofocusing. I never noticed before (thought it was pretty good) but now every now and then it just refuses.

Is there a good camera servicing place around. I dont know much about cameras (got the d50 to learn but havent got around to it yet...) does this sound like a lense problem or a camera body problem...

Could be either. Put on another lens and see if the problem's still there. If it is, could be the body. You said you don't know much about cameras, so make sure the focus mode is on S and not C or M. Also note that cameras won't focus on surfaces without any contrast, like a blank wall.

I believe that big photo equipment building at Luwan District 288 Luban Road has repair shops.
