| Post subject: Personal Trainer Pudong? |
Looking for a personal trainer to come to my compound gym (Tomson Golf) twice per week for 1 hour per session.
Person should speak reasonably good English (minimum) and either, have relevant qualification, or be working towards one. In addition to training, I'm looking for some dietary advice too.
Any recommendations out there? |

I'm in the Marriott in Pudong and am also interested in a personal trainer. If we found one maybe they could go by your place, then come over here for me! |

You can try our service, check www.personaltrainingshanghai.com
Here are the comment Q&A for people who are thinking of hiring a personal trainer in shanghai.
Where do you train?
We train most of our clients at their condo in shanghai metro city, even if you don’t have the facilities in your condo we can still train you to be fit and strong anyway. This is the main reason people hire us. They know that we know what we are doing and your results are guaranteed.
Should I join a gym or hire a personal trainer?
Yes, you can join a gym and also hire a trainer in the gym, in China they’re quite serious about working with clients and the quality of the local trainers is quite professional too.
If I am already a gym member, can I hire my own private trainer to work out with me in that gym I belong to or in the gym in my apartment compound?
Yes you can but depends on the gym management of the club you have joined. Most of them don’t allow outside trainers. Some are open house but need to charge extra fee for your own private trainer. if in this case if you do not want to pay extra for your trainer or your gym don’t allow you to bring your own trainer into the club , we highly recommend you train with us at home, condo or any park in the city! Our professional trainers know how to design a specific program just for you to help you achieve the goal you want, whether you just simply want to be fit or fabulous fit!
I can go to the park and do my own exercise every day, so do I need a trainer?
Yes, going to the park for a few runs or riding bikes in the city are great ideas too! But the secret of youth and being fitter or stronger is the proper weight training and intense fitness training that has been proven by many great athletes and scientists all over the world.
How about nutrition? What should I eat?
You are what you eat! If you don’t pay attention to what you are eating everyday then you’ll never get the body shape you want! Misconceptions of what is meant by ‘DIET” is what most people misunderstand. In this century for most of us, you don’t need FOOD, you only need NUTRITION! Our experts will help you out.
What type of physical activity will I be doing during a session?
Each session will start with a warm up, a mobilization of the major joints and muscles to be used and some brief stretching. Each session ends with a cool down period and some stretching. The backbone of most types of exercise programs is aerobic work, which can include walking, jogging, running, cycling and stepping. Usually at least one to two resistance sessions per week is recommended and free weights and resistance bands are used. A popular type of session is circuit training where many different types of exercises can be incorporated from resistance to aerobic work. Basically, your schedule will be tailored to your tastes and goals and you won't have to do any exercises that you detest. The idea is to make it enjoyable and fun.
How long is a personal training session?
50 minutes from a smooth to powerful movement in an efficient way.
Can I only have a few sessions?
Yes you can, but for optimum results we recommend at least three months of Personal Training, although some results may be seen in just six weeks.
Will exercising with weights make me bulky?
Not unless you want it to. One of the most common fears among women is that resistance training will make them too muscular. Creating muscle tissue to an extent of over-muscular or bulky is very difficult and requires a great deal of training using heavy weights, so you are constantly overloading the muscles to stimulate growth. While training for fat loss you shall not be constantly overloading your muscles to the extent that you'll gain large proportions of muscle. With a varied routine and adequate rest this is not a problem you shall need to worry about.
How often do I need to train?
Like most things in life, the more you put in the more you get out. The general consensus now is that people should be exercising 5-6 days a week for 30-40 minutes or more to gain significant health benefits. However, don't let this put you off. Significant benefits can be seen from three days a week and 2-3 sessions per week are sufficient for those who are out of condition.
Does every exercise session need to be with a Personal trainer?
No. It’s up to the individual. If you wan us to train with you 6 days a week, We can, or you can chose one session a week (yes! You will still get results) if you prefer. We will give you a detailed schedule of what you should be doing during the other sessions.
What sort of people have a Personal trainer?
We train expat women and men. Our clients are from all over the world. |

I have been working out with this trainer 6 times a week...M-F and Sundays...he's absolutely awesome! His prices were the most reasonable I've found...I pay him 1000 RMB for 6 hours a week but before I used to work out with him 3 times a week (M, W, and F) for an hour and it cost me 500 RMB for 3 hours a week. It's been totally worth it-I have more energy, I've gained muscle/lost weight...and the best part is he comes to my gym all the way out in Pudong. He's based out of Puxi though so most of his clients are in that area.
The first session was free-he measured me, asked about my eating habits, and did a full hour workout.
I'm reading his business card and it says he is certified America Bally Personal Trainer and he's completed the China First Level Body Building and Nutrition/Health Care Expert, plus he regularly goes to body-building competitions!
Hahaha...his name is Arnold-yes funny I know! But he's always on time, works my butt off, and speaks English, and comes all the way out here in Pudong to train me!
His number is: 13671511366
His email address is: luckygarden.hxh@gmail.com |
