| Post subject: Meeting the Parents |
I have a Chinese Girl I am in love with and I will be meeting her parents. In the US I would know what to do. But here I am not sure what will be the same or what will be different.
Some background: We have been dating for 7 months and are planning on going to the US for 2 months soon.
Any help would be appreciated. |

Bathe, shave, wear clean, pressed clothes. Don't talk too much, try to briefly answer questions, don't ask too many of your own. Gifts are a must. Offer to help with bringing food to the living room, and to wash the dishes. You will be told not to help, and politely accept. Listen to all the boring stories that they want to tell you ...... The important part is to show you love the girl, treat and respect her, and it's a serious relationship.
Or you could just tell the old farts: Hey, I shagged your daughter in all 3 holes and maaaaan, was she good at it! And does she love my schlong! Here, take a peek at it. Guess you've never seen like it, eh? Old mama, if you want, I can even give you a taste of the action. Just to show ya what you've been missing with the old daddy here. (Anyone know how the joke was supposed to be? I got a really bad memory)
That would leave a really lasting impression on them
Oh yeah, gifts to bring, better to ask your gf. Could be cigarettes, wine, clothing, .... |

Does he touch her in front of the parents or not? How much physical affection is appropriate? |

The smell of burning leather
as we hold each other tight
As our rivets rub together
flashing sparks into the night
At this moment of surrender darling
if you really care
Don't touch me there ! |

This is all **** could have figured out on my own.
How should I act when family enters the room?
Who should pay for dinner?
Should I get drunk with the father?
Should I whip out my massive calk? to seal the deal..
Give me some useful tipps
I am very good with people... but I want to know of any curve balls.
All her family loves me cause I show me love for her. (I really do love her and i do not take the words lightly)
Kick some knowledge...
Please... |

Start applying for the visa now, better to get the rejection out of the way before autumn. |

Just update on the meeting.
Went well, brought presents. Her parents refused to speak anything but shanghai-ese. Dad has no teeth (lost them in a fight) and mom looks surprisingly good.
I love my girl. |

Meeting the parents?
Well, probably you are required to act submissive and loyal to all of them.
It largely depends on if they are conservative. If they are, you need to show your resolution and sincereness right from your heart, that's exactly what the more traditional Chinese parents value the most.
But if they got to be more open-minded and modern, things would be easier, and hence there will be more margin and room for you to use. |
