I wonder what one would be changing in a "changing room" if not one's clothes? I don't know what the changing rooms are like in China, but here in the US, they are much too small for changing such things as automobile tires....
I suppose those who are too dainty to risk being seen nude or being exposed to the nudity of others just have to go home wet.
I am much more appalled by the fact that we can hardly go into a movie theater without my kids being exposed to violent video games in the lobby showing blood spattering from gunshot wounds, people being beheaded by monsters, etc. |

Hi,
Its a cultural thing but its harmless and one will need to adjust. This is common in SE Asia and probably also the West. All you need to do is face the wall and go about your job. I guess maybe you find it awkward to change around your kid? There are ways to tackle all those things too. Remember that all the people around are not oggling or anything.
There are modern places in the world where this is almost absent - ie Mid East, India etc

Which up-tight community do you come from? Of course people are naked in the changing rooms. The only people I've seen putting on underwear while covering with a towel are insecure teenagers who thinks their penis is too small.
Hang the towel, walk around naked, shower, walk around naked, communicate with other naked men, get back to your towel, dry up, walk around naked and finally put on underwear. Then do some walking and communicating half-naked.
In the sauna it's optional to wear a towel if you at least do some naked walking before or afterwards. |

Hahaha, I am in hysterics!! It's especially true here - having seen a few naked local ladies in various change rooms (somehow, my kids and I have survived it and didn't get too traumatised  ), I reckon it should take them at least an hour. Add another 20 minutes for underarms. |

I am very distressed by the behaviour of most men in change rooms. They stare a lot. They spend too much time blow-drying their mass of public hair next to the sink. I have stopped going because I am so put off. I'd feel more comfortable in a changing room in the Castro. |

Yes yor're right. this is shocking..Only in China do people get naked in the changing rooms......Children get to see naked people of the same gender...I think the big problem in China is there is no Gender.....

This happens in Canada too, but mostly with old people. I don't know why but old guys just love walking around naked. I'd prefer people use a towel but hey, i guess when people get old they just don't give a ****. |

Am I the only one who thinks this is totally normal, and the way it is done in most countries regardless of how "modern" they are?
I mean, there is only men in the changing rooms so why bother cover things up, I would understand the concern if it was a mixed changing room, but it's not.
