Hi, theres quite a bit of good advice here on the boards - it can be found via quick searches. Apart from that Shanghai is a nice experience for many - as its a quite modern city.

You can start by quickly learning a list of everyday phrases and words which are easy to memorize. You will need to realize that the place is very low in English proficiency except at certain 'catered for foreigners' spots.

Also go through the Shanghai Map to get used to some of the main areas.

Theres also a metro map you should look into.

The weather right now is very warm and humid hence energy sapping.

You may not be too pleased by the masses but despite such a huge population, the place has an unique equilibrium that many Asian cities don't. Another pleasing aspect compared to Italy will be the prices of most things - which will drop! Very Happy

Ditto.

I even had a thousand-pieces puzzle of Bambi. I loved doing it over and over again.

Anyway...

Ciao! La vita è bella a Shanghai. Cool

Actually....A British accent is not much of a liability here for teachers. In some schools, an asset.

Hello there darls, how YOU doin?

I am interested in your CV. As long as i can easily delete the name BAMBI, and put the name "Reginald Remington Reagan III, OBE, BYO, TAB, COD, MIA, DOA". and pass it off as my own.

Hao Bu Hao?

Yours getstuffedmingly

Reginald
