Post subject: DIRECTIONS FROM PUDONG AIRPORT TO SHANGHAI SCIENCE CENTER

Hi,

First I would just like to say WOW this site is so helpful. I hope someone can help me out, I'll be gong to Shanghai next week and I really want to try taking the Maglev. What will be the best way to go to Shanghai Science Center, arriving from Pudong airport. I only have just a light baggage to carry so trannsferring from one train to another won't be a problem, I hope someone can help me. Thanks Smile

Exit immigration and follow signs that take you towards what seems like the middle of a parking lot structure. The entrance to the Airport Hotel and Maglev station are in the direct center of the parking complex. Buy ticket for Maglev and wait until they allow you to go down to the platform to embark.

At the other end some 8 mins later, you will exit the Maglev station, and follow the signs to the Metro Line 2 station right next to it. You can go to the machine and select "ENGLISH" on the machine and then select Science and Technology Center Station as your destination. It will ask you for 3 rmb. Machine DOES give change if you do not have any, but use a 5 if you can. Take ticket and enter station. Be careful to make sure you take the metro going Westbound.

Pretty straightforward.

Here is a save 10 RMB tip - When buying a ticket for the Maglev, if you have your boarding pass or electronic ticket from that day. The ticket will be 40 RMB instead of 50 RMB, just show them at the ticket counter.

In case you are not good with Eastbound/Westbound, look for the direction that ends at Songhong Rd. When you get on Subway it will only be 2 stops to Science and Technology Museum. Expect minor delays as you go along these days. Your bags will most likely be inspected going out of airport, going into Maglev and then going into subway. It should not take long but is a little bit of a nuisance.
