Post subject: A thought on these Olympics....

Why do people cheer and say "well done" when someone picks up, for example, a silver medal? You're the first loser, get over it. You didn't win.

I like that Swede who handed back his bronze medal. Didn't like being dubbed "the 2nd loser".... well done boy.

A medal is still an accomplishment though. I know what you mean though...

A Silver medal in the Olympics means that you were the second best in the entire World in that competition.

Not really something to be ashamed of IMO......

Perhaps not the ideal word to use.

That term, I should have never been a winner.

the guy didn't return his medal because he lost, he thought the judges were corrupt.

And he's right. I don't think there's been an olympics ever that hasn't had corrupt judges, and this one is no exception.

Sorry, but did anyone watch the Men's Double Trap (shooting)? The Chinese guy MISSED and was awarded points for a hit by the "fair" judges. The look on the Australian shooter's face was priceless. He was all like WTF?!??!!? He didn't hit anything?!?!?!

So how does that work in women's events with the obviously butch judges?

And what's with these pre-pubescent gymnasts?

Same in the boxing. Competitions that rely on judges to score shouldn't be in the olympics.
Nahhh. Name one of the guys that came second to Phelps? Yesterdays hero's...
I can name two...

1. Park Taewhan who came second to Phelps in the 200m freestyle final.

2. Laszlo Cseh who has come second to Phelps a few times.

Not yesterday's heroes... Our thoughts are still with them Very Happy.

One of the Indian shooters also noticed his gun had been tampered with, the sights altered. Luckily he found out as they are allowed some ranging shots before the competition starts.
