Speaking of weird coats, anyone here is a fan of Philip Roth?
He wrote some memorable books, love the guy (Sabbath's Theater, Portnoy Complex, The Stain,...).
But there is this one book, marvelous, about Swede Levov. It's called American Pastoral.
In this book the brother of Swede Levov made a coat out of dead mice skins and gave it to a girl, who finds it completely creepy, obviously....his dad beats up the kid not because of the creepiness, but because of how he treated the mice leather badly (father had a glove factory).
Great little book.
Philip Roth rules, if you guys ever come across anything he ever wrote, grab it.
He is one of my favorite authors...together with Henry Miller and Bukowski and yes, why not, throw a Hemingway here and there. |

Roth has a new book coming out next month hc. I think it's called 'Indignation' at least that's what I read. |

Oh, dear. This is getting out of hand.
But to Henry's point - I'm also a big Roth fan. Loved "American Pastoral". It was one of the selections for my book club a few years back. I think I've read all his novels.
