Sorry I only read that paragraph but it is so true. But Chinese do not realize this, they see the symptom (biaised media reports, propaganda in Western media) but do not fully understand the cause. |

Oh yeah, it's completely true. Read the rest of my post as well, because it is full of awesome.
I think the best thing to say is this. Especially in the US, the news has now become a form of entertainment. The viewers get what they want.
Right now, China is viewed as the US's biggest competitor in terms of size, economy, dominance, etc. Your average American wants to feel like they are still on the top of the hill, even if they really are. It's just nice to hear it. |

How many Chinese do you know? Do you mean ethnically Chinese or the Chinese citizen in China? If it is the latter, my hunch is most of them don't even read the mass media in West which is in English.

Because they don't have knowledge about China, the CCP, the psychotic nationalists, the corruption, the hatred and greed that permeate all levels of government and business.
If they did, and eventually if the western media does its job they will, those numbers will look more like 50 out of 100 see China as the greatest enemy and 90% see it negatively.
Much like the number for the expat community.

Imagine the idiocy of someone who asks for evidence that supports a supposition!
BTW I think if you write "putting yourself at", rather than "putting yourself to" it would be more correct. Certainly more appealing to my sensibilities anyway. |

As events unfold in Lhasa the western media is fed "reports" from Radio Free Asia and various Free t¡bet organizations (both state sponsored propaganda outlets). It has nothing to do with 'biased' media, it has everything to do with mass brainwashing. The same is true of the more recent Georgia/Russia conflict.
Problem-reaction-solution. Create the problem (rioting in Lhasa or the Georgian attack on Ossetia), spin the reaction to align with the pre-planned "solution" and bingo, you have a population that is brainwashed to believe that peaceful prοtesters were victims of a massive PLA crack-down, or, that Russia invaded a peaceful, democratic and free Georgia.
It's called psychological warfare and chances are YOU are one of the victims. |
