I think so.. The first floor, but not at ground level, right? Both entrances led up to that floor (pretty large stairs).

Anyway, I must've been blind and intimidating in that case cause I didn't see a single phone. All I saw was cables, remotes, some games, mp3s and batteries.

I could try again, but I'm not sure I want to buy the phone from that place Smile I would prefer something more established (even though I realise it is probably impossible to get an HTC from such a place).

PS. As a sidenote, I only saw one floor. There was kind of like 1½ floor but it was a single shop with like power tools and such.

PPS. It's tax/customs when you buy from PCHome, right? I asked in a different thread and they said it was, even when buying from HK. It gets quite a lot on a phone of this price :/

I think I saw a Touch Diamond in HK 2 weeks ago priced at $4.7k HK but I'm on a budget so I settled for the Touch instead for $2.7K HK.

Hello all,

I bought mine here over a month ago, an official HTC branded one. Don't get the Dopod branded one as its more expensive and lacks WIFI - coz the greedy gov't want you ro shell out kuais for their lame ass GPRS package from China Mobile:

http://84sj.com/

As far as the ROM goes, just go to this site - will tell you everything you need to know about flashing the ROM - and tweaking the unit for best performence

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=428

Good luck with your hunting and I absolutely love my DIamond!

Oh, and about the Xiang Yiang/Fu xing electronics market - be wary of fakes. A Shanghainese guy told me that they are notorious over there for fakes. Not sure to the accuracy of his statement, but I'd beware Smile

Actually you will even find Touch Diamonds on ebay now that can be snagged for around $400 although you probably need a sniping program to get those. Just beware that some of the HTC Diamonds being advertised are actually Dopods and missing some of the features of the HTC. I have noticed that in a few of the lower priced models on ebay.

You can of course save even more if you get one where box was opened and phone maybe used for a few days.

What bluetooth earpiece is compatible with it? I got a friend telling me to buy an HB-200. Would it work? Do they have it here?

Fast update - I bought Touch Pro ("Raphael") it yesterday at XiangYang Lu, second floor for 4800 RMB, with WM6.1 English and it is an amazin piece of stuff...
Not so many around - only one shop selling it
I am usually difficult to satisfy but I really love it...

I love mine too ! Had it one week now, HTC Touch Diamond with WI-Fi and CE Star and Dopod Maps - took one hour to load the English windows and the extra software mentioned.
R3,400 RMB from a close friend's shop near Shanghai Station. Could not tell you the buildings' name or address though - a friend took me there.

Thinking of getting the HTC Touch Diamond. Anyone know the going rate at Xiangyang/Fuxing Electronics market? Sounds like about 3500 or so now is the going price.

There is a place near Shanghai railway station, called Kerry building. You can easily get HTC diamond there. The price is around 3800 rmb. I bought one 2weeks ago at 3800 rmb what they called Water goods.

Just bought one at the Electronics Market on Xiangyang/Fuxing. Without bargaining at all, 3300rmb.

questions for those who also have one.

The browser icon does not seem to open anything. Youtube on it works, and Internet Explorer works from opening up in the All Programs menu, but the Browser icon does not work. Any ideas?

Also, having some problems syncing it.

Look under the program icon for Opera - this is pocket PC type internet browser application - the browser icon on mine opens this application.

I did not sync mine myself, but I believe you need Active Sync on the phone to do this.

Make sure your mail is set properly and only retreives on demand or the phone will gobble yoiur money quickly!! Mine went through 500rmb in 3 days with active data links Sad

I wonder if you could have gotten it for less if you had bargained?

What ROM version is this? English?
