5 DAY BIKING ADVENTURE AT JINHUA, NORTH ZHEJIANG
2008 9/30-10/3 OCTOBER HOLIDAY

“To The fairyland of mountains, rivers and lakes”

Jinhua is a famous national historical and cultural city forged in the depths of Zhejiang on the fringes of the mountainous regions that span the southern region of the province. It’s mountains, rivers, lakes, caves, forests are lovely, and “bring brilliance to each other,” as the Chinese saying goes. Its mountainous area has more than 300 sites with great caves, strange shaped stones, hidden valleys, babbling rivers, and well-loved lakes and reservoirs.
BOHDI will set forth on 5 days 5 nights biking & hiking adventure in Jinhua, along the way filling up on fresh air, experiencing the Jinhua countryside, hitting the great spots, and enjoying the exhilaration of biking.

Day 1 Rural riding warm-upMeet up early at BOHDI and hit the road to Jinhua so we can get a start on the great week of biking. We start the day with a cruise into the mountains surrounded by pine trees, quiet villages and fresh air. We complete a great 40km mix of on- and off- road tracks through the country that will leave you thirsting for more.

Day 2 Taming the Double DragonsAfter a good breakfast, we get on our bikes and climb the double Dragons. A beautiful and epic climb ends with a view of the entire valley nestled among the mountains. As with all great uphill rides, the day ends with a well-deserved and ridiculously fun downhill, back towards civilization. Note that, on Day 2, both difficult and easy routes are available.

Day 3 Foothills to the South
We hit 40km to 60km (both difficult and easy routes are available, according to the group level) of single-track, dirt cart paths and quiet concrete roads. We will twist in and out of villages, through orchards, and over rolling hills on a trip that will leave you feeling accomplished. We end the day overlooking a glorious reservoir from a dam-top perch before heading deep into the mountains where we stay in a quiet mountain village with our host, a calligraphy master!

Day 4: Calligraphy & Tea
Wake to the burbling of a stream and enjoy an authentic Chinese breakfast prepared by our host. After breakfast, we will witness a calligraphy demonstration by the local master and then prepare to head off. On the beautiful 35-45km ride, we’ll cruise through seas of tea as we make our way to the Golden Flower Lake and a boat ride to our quiet, lake-side hotel for our final evening.

Day 5: Hiking in the Mountains of the Golden Flower
Wake to a quiet morning of coffee and breakfast. Pack up our things and head out for a scenic and relaxing 6km hike through the pine trees and hidden farms. We will meet our van and head to lunch before making the trip back to Shanghai.

Includes: round trip transportation, all accommodation, all meals, all waters and beers, an experienced English-speaking tour leader, bike and helmet rental.
