Post subject: College Football (US variety, not that soccer rubbish)

Any suggestions of where to catch some US college football games? I did the search and it sounds like the usuals like Bamboo and Malones might show a few games. Any others?

For those from the west coast, there is UW vs. Oregon (ranked 21) at 10am our time Sunday. Go Huskies!!!

As this is a night game in the states (10pm EST), I am hoping one of the available satellites pick this one up.

Please...any help is welcome! Thanks.

From searching old posts I saw that Bubba's seemed to be the go to place to watch American football in prior seasons. I haven't seen anything about it for this season yet, but I'm interested in learning where a good spot to watch games at is as well.

We show games all day on Sundays starting generally at Noon. They are same day delayed, and I play the best match ups in order that they are played in the U.S.

Next week I think we will open for a live showing of USC vs Ohio State. That will be Sunday Morning. KJ

Or to see the real Football, Aussie Rules, head to the Bamboo at 12.30 today. Finals time, today Geelong v Saints.

None of this rubbish with big dumb guys wearing more padding than a chinese lingerie show. Just blokes with mullets going hard at the ball. Doesn't get any better!

true....all true.....
OSU better play better than they did yesterday. That was a pretty good game, and maybe it shouldn't have been.

I think....THINK...the kick off will be at 9 a.m. our time.

Well, I've watched AFL a few times, and the sight of these blokes running around with their little shorts didn't appeal (much) to me. I didn't quite get the meaning of "mullets" above and looked it up on answers.com. Below is what they have for a definition. Indeed, if he was going hard at the balls, it would strike consternation in my heart. I differ that it couldn't get any better than this however. Think I'll stick with my American football.

haha....yes...what is up with the short shorts????

I think most rugby players would give a left arm to play and compete in the NFL. Actually, some of the elite have actually made it onto payrolls in America...only to be relegated to kickers.

Usually, I find people that take a stance that rugby is much tougher and violent than American football comes from those who've probably never played either outside a street game.

Here's a pretty good article, that compares the two, written by someone who's played both. I don't mind rugby, by the way, and enjoy ozzie rules a lot. But the argument is stupid that I hear over and over that it is tougher than the American version and the American version is for pussies.

I think the last thing you guys want to see as American football athletes organize into a real rugby squade. I think the trophies you have that float around between countries would have a permanent home in America.

Actually a few retired Aussie Rules players are heading to the NFL. Saverio Rocca and Ben Graham are playing at the moment i believe. They play as kickers. 10 seconds of game play, earn a few million a year. Nice work.

Funny how though they have to retire from Aussie Rules because they are too old and slow, but can still play NFL. Hmmmm, ponderment.

and Rocco took one big hit last year on his first start and I guess that finished him. He no longer plays. Same as graham. They sure didn't last long.

Aussie Rules, NFL, Rugby, they're all sports for woofters as far as I'm concerned.

Playing on grass?

In the summer?

It's sport, not a picnic.

Will the OSU-USC game be available live anywhere online? If not, where can I get a glimpse of it in real time? Thanks in advance!

We showed it live and it was awesome....for about half the customers. ha ha. I didn't promote this one because I was afraid of over spill, and at 8 a.m. I would have hated to turn away people.

As it was, we had over 50 people enjoy the game and a soft taco bar.

I will start putting out a weekly game schedule by e-mail this week If you want on, please send me a PM.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE THIRD ANNUAL SHANGHAI CHILI COOK-OFF. PM me on this as well for details or how to enter to compete for BESt CHILI IN SHANGHAI.
