| Post subject: Where to get California King bed frame made? |
I was told by my realtor, and a number of my friends who have lived in Shanghai for years, that it is almost impossible to purchase a California King bed frame.
I would like to get one made, using minimalistic light-color wood designs seen in IKEA furniture. And since I have 2 toddlers, I don't want to spend a lot on this. But I would like it to have solid back support and we are not that young.
Any suggestions on contractors and/or shops would be appreciated. Please let me know your experience with the ones you recommended, so I may quote you as a past customer and get a discount
Thank you in advance! |

Sorry this isn't going to answer your question.... I'm just curious.... if you are looking for back support, isn't the mattress more important than the size of the bed frame? And why isn't a regular king-size enough? |

California King bed = 72" * 84" =183cm*213cm , and this is only the bed frame size? the mattress is 180cm x 200cm, is it right? |

YES YOU CAN! Just go shopping at furniture marts. To make it easier just go directly to the bedframe/mattresses section instead of shopping at individual furniture stores.
I guess since you want a simple design just zoom in on the store that catches your eye that offers simple design. They usually showcase King and Queen size beds only. If you see something you like, just ask the salesperson do they offer it for 2x2 meter beds. They will then fill you in on the details.
I bought a California King (by accident) a few years ago. LOL first time to buy my own bed. I asked for "the biggest bed" cuz I had a decent sized bedroom. I THOUGHT I was buying a King size....go figure. Hahaha. I haven't bought linens for a California King for quite sometime though. It MIGHT be difficult to find fitted sheets for a California King but hey, how many sheets do you need? Just bring a set or two from your travels next time you leave the country. |

Oops I just noticed that you don't want to spend a lot. What's your budget. Maybe I can streamline my suggestion if possible as to where to go. |

Thank you for your suggestions.
A friend of mine suggested the Furniture Mall as well, but didn't suggest a particular shop. I had a solid wood frame previously, it was great for our back, but had to leave it behind for my parents. I don't want to sound cheap, but less than US$500 if possible. But if I need to spend more so that it complements the firm mattress we have invested in, I will do so.
Are we allowed to bargain at the furniture mall? |
