Post subject: Best Milk in China?

One of my friends just sent me this article:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7012056.stm

Anyone knows this GreenYard milk? I called their office (www.organicvalley.com.cn) in Shanghai, 17RMB for half liter carton is cheaper than Japanese milk, but they don't have slim milk (will launch this Dec), and then they recommend UHT organic valley milk from Australia.

17 Kuai for 500 cc ? Are you nuts ? I go for the Mongolian UHT milk, with the 2 cows on the pack. At least if it's UHT it has been highly sterilised. 6.5 RMB for a litre.

Drinking local "fresh" milk is a joke. Cold Chain boys, Cold Chain !

I think that's the one they sell in City shop - it's pretty good - tastes more like proper milk than the others and their natural yoghurt is good too.

I've been drinking another organic milk from Lohao city - it's called Zhen Yuan (according to the leaflet they gave me - the carton is all in Chinese) - and think it's 20 rmb for a 1/2l carton (www.sh-dairy.com) - I prefer it to the greenyard stuff - it's from jersey cows so better flavour IMHO...... I spend way too much time looking for decent milk!

UHT is safer than fresh, but what if local milk contains antibiotic.
Does "highly sterilised" work on this? anyone knows?
