Post subject: Western bars

I can't speak Mandarin. Are there any bars or clubs that are dominated by ex pats?

Go to any of the following and forget your in china......

Sasha's, Blarney stone, Eager beaver, Zapatas, Bulldog Shanghai, O'Malleys, Paulaner, 3 sisters (sorry, that one's secret isn't it?) - all within walking distance at the north of Hengshan lu.

Alternatively go to windows and pretend your in Nigeria...

Good to hear that you did some research before your arrival Captain Eagle. To answer your question? These other posters are posers, and they are full of crap. You are the only foreigner in Shanghai. God help you.

By research, you mean...asking people that live there currently right? Damn that's a good idea. Thanks man.

I went to Tong Ren Lu last night. It was smaller than I thought it would be but some places to go and drink. I'll try the 3 sisters bar tonight on Feng Yeng Lu.

By plane.

It's not like I came here and all I want to is get lapdances. I'm going to check out the temples and museums and parks. I can't do everything in one day.

It's just a bar. They do strip shows once in a while, probably to those that pay the most. The negative vibe here that was created at the mere mention of this topic was confusing to me but now I understand. You don't come here for that kind of thing. If you want to pay for it, I'm sure there's places that are not hard to find.

They do do strip shows every once in a while but it's no strip club.
