Post subject: USB-Shield stopped working

Hey all,

I recently opened an ICBC saving account and online banking with atm card, passbook and they gave me the usb key thingy.

OK, I installed the drivers for the GemPlus 2006 or something and it worked, I'm able to plug in the usb key into my laptop and verify my pin.

Everything is fine until I installed ActiveCilent 6.0, I got a PCMIA card reader installed into my laptop for work and the software messed up my GemPlus 2006 now...

I inserted my usb key and it says no card inserted(usb key light is green solid).. anyone know a fix? Do I really need the usb key thingy to access online banking?

If was I, I'll try to install U-sheild on an another PC, to proof it's not a hardware problem.
Green light can not proof the U-sheild has no problem.

If it's not a hardware problem, then you can try driver re-install.
What about the PCMIA card reader? Is there any Unusual message occured?

oh U-Sheild worked before i installed ActiveCilent.... USheild and ActiveCilent both software being card readers, i think its conflicting with one another...

Basically Usheild/Gemplus 2006 doesn't work, and ActiveCilent/PCMIA card reader works.

Strange that this would happen. its no big deal if i cannot get usheild/gemplus to work, i only login icbc online banking to check my balance.

Perhaps when i go back to shanghai, i could bring my laptop with me to the local icbc branch so th ey can take a look at it.
