I used to play at Shanxi Rd and Weihai Wei Road, east of the Chinese-Russian Hall (or Shanghai Industry Exhibition Hall),but that was three years ago with a bunch of expats and local folks. Most are at intermediate or advanced level. I'd be interested to know if the courts are still open to public. |

Add me to the list of people looking for a place to play volleyball in Shanghai...I prefer sand doubles if I can find it, but anything will do. As far as the pro tourney...it's the FIVB Womens Shanghai open from May 26th to 30th.
Thanks...Tobin |

tdotspartans, Wow, August is just around the corner. I wish you good luck with your move.
I'm delighted to find a fellow Spartan who happens to play volleyball as well. I originally came from Shanghai, but have been living and working in Michigan for 15 years now. I do go back to Shanghai often for personal or business reasons. I'm in the international relocation business providing a range of services and acting as a single point of client for an automotive company here. Just curious, are you going over on an international assignment? I'd be interested in knowing what you can find about volleyball places there. I would love to participate whenever I'm visiting. By the way, I'm John. |

Hey all, I'm moving to Shanghai in just a few weeks, the end of June. I hooked up with some one through Xianzai Shanghai who plays every thursday night with some expats. Dont know where or what level yet, I'll keep you posted. I'll also be on the prowl for the sand scene. I've been in Jinan for this last year and going through some serious withdrawl from the beach scene! If anyone has some new info, or is putting a list together, get me on it!

Hi Michael,
Please keep us posted. I also wouldn't mind playing on the beach, or grass if they have it.

We're moving to SH from Jinan, Shandong province... about 9 hours north by train. We came to China last year by way of South Carolina, Myrtle Beach. It's been a looong COLD Winter!! Otherwise we're loving China! Spent this last year teaching in an International school, wife will be teaching adults in SH, I'm going back to the Tech business. |

Has anyone organized or found any pickup volleyball yet? I'm here until October, and I'm an intermediate beach and 6-person volleyball player looking for a game.
Thanks! |

Been playing the last couple weeks at a Middle school on XiZhang Bei lu. (N. t¡bet Rd.) The Address is 803. They play on Thursday evening, 7-930 or 10:00. The level is intermediate to experienced, 1 net, male and female, good attitudes. They do ask for 20 yuan.
As for grass, no luck yet, but I've been too busy to look much. If you need help organizing, I've got some experience there. |
