| Post subject: HP Service Center LYING and refusing to replace parts |
Hi,
A couple of weeks ago my HP printer had an error message and couldn't be used.
I gave the printer to HP's service center - this is within the 1 year warranty period.
After a couple of days they contacted and said there is a problem with the printing head which they will now try to fix.
After a week they call back and say that someone broke the printing heads so they can't fix it and replacing the printing head is not covered in the warranty in such a situation.
It was HP that removed the printing heads from the printer and for sure I did not touch them or brake them.
They are just plain lying.
I'm hoping to get a contact of a responsible HP person in China and also in the USA which I will contact and also send snail mail to complain about their service in China. I will not rest until they provide me with a working printer as the one I purchased.
Many thanks for anyone who could let me know such contacts. |

Had some problems with them over a printer i bought 2 years back, no luck with their people here so i went on their US website and saw they had a link where i could write to the CEO in the US, i gave them the whole story there, 2 weeks later, got a call from HP Beijing asking me about what i wrote in, gave them the detials and then a week later, their Shanghai office calls me back and fixes up the problem for free plus threw in a couple of boxes of free ink... Try that way.. |

I had problems with HP when their software conflicted with other things on my PC and i couldnt find a solution. The Customer Service is absolutely shockingly bad, I spent well over a month trying to fix it, phoning them up, being on hold for half an hour before being cut off at the time their office closes, no getting replies at all, etc... in the end i just reformatted my whole computer! I'll never buy HP again.
On a side note I had similar problems with LaCie support and will never buy them again. Just wanted to throw that in... |

We actually have this problem here on 4 of the computers, not to mention their drivers are simply huge bulk ware.
Scouse, jz: thanks I will do just that! |

Update: I've sent an email to the CEO address, shortly after received a call from their Beijing offices and now from their local support center. Unfortunately, the local support center is sticking to their same nonsense, so I will send another complaint to their USA HQ.
By now I've purchased a second printer of another brand - it costs less, works just as well and best of all the drivers don't seem to be some bulkware that disrupts the computer's operation. |

Different problem but same company. I had a power supply go bad on an H.P. Printer, went to XJH to buy a new one. Both wife (Chinese) and I (a 'white guy') were looking for the power supply. She found one first and got a quoted price of 200rmb, she finds me to go pay for it. I show up and the price jumps to 250, she screams, I call shenanigans, price for the laowai stays at 250. This is an H.P. shop not a run-of-the-mill local type store.
I go through ink cartridges faster than milk and now have a very nice new Epson printer. |

Haha, love it.....
I worked for them for 8 years, USED to be a great company back in the day. I am still very loyal to their products though, and i've never had a problem with service. |

Final update: it has been resolved, thanks to HP's Beijing support.
Thanks again for the HP CEO email idea, it worked. |

Had a Sony dealer in the Huai Hai Rd electronic mall sell me a laptop power adapter (copy) for RMB900 without the cord to the wall socket. Found the exact same one on the 3rd floor for RMB300 with the cord. Returned the RMB900 one along with everything else we bought at the time, and went back to the 3rd floor to buy the brick/mouse/etc. |

@MoonOverMiami - You were still ripped off, the copy ones are about 80rmb.
Real ones can be had for 250ish new.
...and Tassi. Totally believable, we've had similar experiences with Apple, and IBM here. When we've escalated, we've been told, oh, its not *us*, its our authorized reseller/dealers. Bullcrap. |

Doesn't work.
Last year we bought a HP DV2XXX from a HP shop in SH and wanted English Windows which is not an option so they suggested to install a pirated version of Windows XP which they did at their service centre next door and asked if we need Office as well. True story!
When I got home I installed a legal version of XP.
I wrote an email to the CEO and to anyone else I can find about this and to get get the HP English Vista reinstall discs for that model laptop and never got any reply.
The laptop is crap anyway... |
