The singer Becca Smith has a long experience in song writing: her songs are a mixture of indie-rock and pop, with a touch of blues. Her voice is sensual but can also become aggressive when she performs her most rocking out songs. After being in different bands in the US she started performing solo in China for a few years, before meeting up with the other members of Dovetail Joints. Guitarist Adam Gansler graduated in music at University of Sidney, Australia. He has been playing guitar since he was very young and developed an amazing fine technique, both in solos and strumming. He was a founding member of original rock band “Shelf” in Sydney, with which he played for five years all around Australia. Sandro Cagnin, bass player from Italy, started playing his instrument in his teens as well. Coming from a family of musicians, he grew up in a musical environment and got acquainted with piano and drum kit too, before moving to what’s now his instrument. He has been part of the original Chinese band Minjian Funk (民间饭客) for more than four years, writing songs which are a blend of rock, blues and the sound of the Yunnan minorities. The drummer Knut Hansen,has been playing with a few rock bands before founding the Motherkake, with which he recorded a CD and toured Norway in the late nineties. His main influences are Steward Copeland and Terry Bozzio, but he enjoys playing in a reggae style mixed with some latin jazz beats. In China he has been part of the Georgia Sam Blues Band for a couple of years, where he first started to play harmonica and first met bassist Sandro.
