Of course you can borrow them , if you let me have The Tale of the two sisters Smile when and where do we meet for exchange ?
I like to watch Star Mandarin from time to time , even though it's a pain in the neck to watch with the subtitles some movies are quite good ...Isn't there even a 3rd Internal Affairs already ? Wonder how the American Remake will be ... The last Hong Kong movie I watched was about this little girls being kidnapped , brought to an deserted island and trained to be contract killers...some decent action , after that I always think I am good in kung fu as well... dozens of flower pots kicked off the tables by accident already ... That's also why I am a bit hesitant to watch Crouching Tiger...Imagine myself sitting in a tree afterwards and the firefighters have to come to get me out of it again...like a cat...

Littlefox, the serie 24 is available for season 1 and season 2. Have seen season 1 already and was an interesting plot about intriges, action, assasination plot and moles in the organisations. Especially the end is amazing, no spoilers here Mr. Green

Another series which are quite good are: Angel (vampire with soul), Dark Angel, Alias, CSI , X-files, Sex and the city (ladies only, my fiancee likes it Wink ), Dragonball Z (about over 100 episodes to keep you bussy) , Transformers originals you can get here too (remembering my hero's from primairy school) now just looking for Ghostbusters Yeah, Mr. Green together with NBA, soccer action you won't get bored anyway on rainy days,

Ivo

Very Happy Very funny.

When I was little, there was once I forgot to bring keys, Mom and Dad wouldn't be back in three hours so I went to neighbour's apartment. Guy next door is about 20 something and he has practiced Marshal Arts since he was young. He noticed that our apartment on the second floor, the door to balcony was actually left ajar, so he asked me "do you want me to open the door for you from the balcony?". I was in doubt but I agreed. We went outside. He stepped back on the lawn for about 30 meters sth, then he run very fast......he actually walked a few steps on the wall then reached the edge of the balcony, climed up....then he opened the door for me. It all happened within seconds.

Seeing laowai likes Crouching tiger I only laugh. hehehe. No offense. Hongkong movies in general are too commerical lack of culture. But HK action movies are pretty good. The reason I don't like Kill Bill, was because 1)explicit violence2)As partially an action movie, Uma Thurman has got the posture but not the spirit/soul. for demonstration of Marshal arts you gott be行神兼并. Vice versa I've seen Chinese dancers perform River Dance, it's a disaster.

Marshal Arts , like drawings of and by sherriff's ? Laughing sorry couldn' help it ... I loved Bruce Lee movies back when I was younger and brought some back in Hong Kong when they were cheap...That dude was really fit, a shame he died ( and his son ) so young... Stuff of legends !! Kill Bill is violent I agree but I liked in a way where I thought it's just because he wants to pay tribute to all the samurai movies back in the 80's . I love the beginning with Uma Thurman and Black Mamba, really cool ! But it is true , she does not really play convincing ... There was a post here once about hong kong chinese tv series and if they are available in Shanghai, anybody know ? I am looking for one ( don't know it's name , think it was something like "Challenge in the Sky" ) that was on there recently about a pilot academy and I was in it , having a little part, would love to see that once...

:-)Has anybody ever heard of that new chinese movie , about a young violin player that is getting sent to the big city by his father who saves up a lot of money so his son can attend this super important music college ? I read about it somewhere , can't remember where but it sounded really interesting...

Fiddler- this movie is called "Together" in english, and "和你在一起" (he2 ni3 zai4 yi1 qi3) in Chinese. Pretty good movie. funny in parts, sad in others, poignant in yet others. Not spectacular, but good.

wowwowo, thx, The Fiddler, keep your words Wink I will bring The Tale of Two sisters and the fox stair. Very Happy and your wild imagination makes me laugh. Firefighters salvage a poor cat? lol
I think some Chinese movies depicting culture revolution are quite good, heavy but real. I remember the one I watched named Qingchun Ji (青春祭), sigh...

Ivo, I watched Sex and The City ( have to say this is for girls and gays:P) and Ally Mcbeal (which is also a good series), Friends( not attracted to me at all ), X Files (which I have been long for, but then the movie channel screened a crap dubbed version, season 1 and 2 Confused) will try other series you mentioned later, thx Very Happy

Jane, waz Crying Game?

About Schmidt was quite moving ...I like Jack Nicholson , One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest is still a top movie these days... I also liked Shining and ( D'oh forgot the name but he's playing that writer and has a gay neighbour and falls in love with that waitress ) ...

LF , I have the Fox Stairs at home, but would appreciate seeing The Tale of Two Sisters...
you have exactly the same opinion about Sex and The City as I have ...

"...Robert De Niro, Billy Crystall are excellent actors".

They are both in "Analyze This". It's hilarious.

Compare to the Fox stairs, Rings1,2,3 and Curse, I like Gothika best.

Actually i don't dare to watch The Tale of the two sisters, it looks and sounds too horrible.

And yeah, Big Fish is very much worth watching, the director made such a beautiful scenery in the movie just as same as he did in Scissor Hand Edward!

hmm... what's 24hours about? It seems to be interesting. Smile
