| Post subject: best way to get money out of china |
I am moving back to the US after several years of living and working in Shanghai. I'm trying to find out the BEST and most cost effective way to get my savings (around 40,000RMB) out of China. Options i've considered thus far are:
1 coverting to USD on black market and buying bank draft
2 converting to USD on black market and carrying cash in money belt
3 wiring amount thru B of China (providing work contract and tax receipts
to do so)
4 asking a Chinese friend to wire it via Western Union (I've heard there is no fee for a chinese citizen)
No guesses please, I need to get this information correct and have heard too many different opinions at this point!
Thanks in advance. |

you don't need work contract and tax receipts to wire money out from Bank of China..
you just walk in with USD and you can wire it out to your bank account no problem..I and my other friend do it regularly to the U.S.......and yes, there are reputable people around where you can change your rmb to usd...always use someone on referral only.... |

Thanks - do you happen to know what they (boc) charge to wire money? I've heard back, thru work, that ICBC will max charge of 200RMB and with the work contract and tax receipts, i can wire RMB without having to change it into USD myself. I'm basically looking for the best combo of cheap and very few steps. |
