Post subject: Flights out of China (Shanghai)

Hey peeps,

I am planning to fly to the US (New York) on a one-way ticket around the first week of June. I have never bought an international ticket out of China and was hoping someone might have some tips for me: should I purchase the ticket soon, or am I better off waiting until the date gets nearer, and more importantly, where can I search for cheap flights?

I do not care which airline I fly with, nor how long it takes, nor if I need to make several stop-overs. I just care about getting there as cheaply as I can.

Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions!

Talk to travel agents....several of them. I have a friend who got a return flight to New York for about $500 USD in January.

You might want to try Smart Travel (http://www.smart-travel.com.cn). The phone # is 86 21 6326 4511 and asked to speak to Elva. She is pretty good and can speak English.

So far I had purchased 3 tickets with them and very satisfied with their service and price. I went back Philly last Novemeber and it costs around USD 1,200 round trip, economy class.

So give it a a try and a quotation. And they also deliver to your location as well.

By the way, are you Greg by any chance?

If you are not that picky, you can take China airline. It is the cheapest one.
