Post subject: Are there any websites on real estate?

Are there any websites with thorough in depth reports on the real estate industry in Shanghai and/or China overall?

Even better is if the reports are up to date with the local news, not posthumously written by using translation a month later.

If so, please post them. I want to understand the market better. I'm afraid that I might miss some meanings in the Chinese reports because Mandarin isn't my first language.

you can try the websites of real estate consulting firms like Jones Lang Lasalle at www.research.joneslanglasalle.com, CB Richard Ellis, DTZ, Cushman Wakefield, www.colliers.com,NAI Direct ..etc. Often, they have free reports online.

There's a free real estate magazine in print for Shanghai. I have seen it at the Starbucks in Raffles City, by People's Square. (But I forgot the name)

Also, because real estate is a big and rapidly growing industry in China, many business publications will probably publish something on it at one point or another. www.thestandard.com.hk has many articles.

And a good magazine is Shanghai Loushi (上海楼市),published weekly. It's in mandarin, but not too difficult mandarin. Also, it's got wonderful maps showing the latest developments and pricing details. It's centered on residential real estate though. It's harder to find mass market publication on commercial real estate.

I would still recommend Chinese publication if you really want better information. I t'smore up to date, especially with these constant new regulations and investment rules coming up. I used to look at English websites and found it difficult to find much information, then I discovered mandarin websites and a whole treasure trove of information. Google in mandarin is really good for research. I access it from www.google.com.sg instead of www.google.com though.

hope that helps.
