Post subject: Same Day Visa in Hong Kong

Greetings,

I'm American am going to travel to Hong Kong next week to get a Chinese tourist visa.

On the Chinese consulate website it states you can get same day rush service for $30 usd extra on top of $130 for the L Visa. (is this price up to date?)

I need to plan my flight around turn around time,

Is same day turn around reliable?

What is the general wait time for application (since 12:30 is cut off for same day)

Any help on this matter would be great

Hi. I can get you a 6 month or 12 month multi entry tourist visa in about 2 hours in Macau. I dont think they can do that any more in Hong Kong, unless you have a Macau or HK working permit

i was in hong kong a few weeks ago and could still get the visa same day if i wanted through an agency, sunrise or something like that...
i went to the agency around 1 pm, so i assume it shouldnt be a problem if you are willing to pay just a little more (in fee cost)? they have a website so google a bit and you'll be fine i guess

I can confirm this as I was there last Friday ( If you applied on Thursday morning you will get it on Friday morning for rush service).
However I had contacted a travel agent ( recommended by other people from Shanghai) on Wednesday upon arrival in HongKong and I happen to meet that same girl(she was G***) on Friday while picking up my visa. She didn't pass to the window but instead went directly inside the office and bring with her a box full of envelopes. So I guess some travel agents with the right connection could get you a one day visa, otherwise need to be two days including submission day.

Can they get you a one month visa even if you just left China the day before? My girlfriend is on an F-Visa (expiring December 15th) and has no more entries left. She would like to go to HK with me and then come back and stay for one more month (or more?) in Shanghai?

You can do this for an American passport? What about a UK passport? Are previous Chinese visas on the passport relevant? What is the maximum duration of stay for each entry now?

Has anyone here ever gone to Macau to get a Chinese visa? I've never heard of anyone doing it, just Hong Kong.

In case anyone cares, you can't go to Korea or Japan to get one (unless you're a resident), and you can go to Thailand.
