| Post subject: Are there any Restaurants in Shanghai which serve PHO? |
Pho is a great Vietnamese Noodle soup.
Places where I've been, and mind you I've never been to Vietnam, the Pho restaurants usually serve only Pho. They also always have a name like "Pho 72" or "Pho 311" or "Pho 777" which makes it hard to differentiate them unless you have a degree in mathematics.
Also they usually have the option of having cartelidge and ligament in your soup. Contrary to how it sounds, it is delicious, especially the cartelidge. |

Oh yeah Pho is soooooooooooooooo good, like this topic BDXR!
They serve the best Pho in Paris, excluding Vietnam ofcourse. The Vietnamese community in Paris is very big, been there many times and enjoyed Pho many times. But the home made pho of a friend's mom is also very great. |

I think they have great Pho wherever there is a Vietnamese person with some vision and a good Pho recipe.
But
Are there any in Shanghai? |

if you want cheap pho, there's a place along Fuzhou road near Raffles City that serves vietnamese food. They have pho and rice noodles for about 12 kuai a bowl. They also serve grilled meat on rice, and other simple meals. It's fast, clean, and casual. Popular with both foreigners and locals. |

I've been to Paris and they have a fine assortment of Thai soups but the worlds best PHO? I dont know. We'll have to ask Izanami to sample a few bowls for us (it seems she is looking for a ticket to Paris) |

Hope Izanami will enjoy her trip to Paris, although French people are not my kind of people, Paris is a nice city. |

I'm not so keen on Pho, prefer other Vietnamese dishes (Banh Cuon, xeo...)
But the pho made by my mom is good

You mean Pho 14? On Avenue de Choisy right? The best Pho in Paris.
You have the same surname as I do but my mom cannot make Pho! She can make laksa though.
One bowl of Pho can lead to another... |

I find it funny how each of you declares that your city has the best Pho in the world. But honestly, how would one know unless one had specifically tasted Pho in ALL parts of the world. Therefore, I declare that Antarctica has the best Pho quickly followed by Nigeria. They rock! Nigeria even lets you use dried, human sacrificed blood instead of the usual cow blood.
...just tell them you are ready for a big PHO and then drop trouser. It may take a while for the meat to cook, but once it turns hard it's great. |

I did not end up in Paris eventually. Sigh.
I think you guys should try Laksa and Mee Siam. Especially Mee Siam. But you will have to go to a reliable Singapore restaurant for that, and I'm not sure if there's any good Singapore restaurants in Shanghai. |

The best laksa can be found in Penang, Malaysia or Singapore if you must. Mee Siam, whats that actually? Laksa is better than Pho imo! |
