I knew this would be Hell before I even signed up. Where else could I be? Lying on the bottom bunk of 30 beds stacked two up in three rows, surrounded by coughing, wheezing, spitting chain smokers on a long distance bus to the edge of China's Western frontier, Xinjiang.
