Lifelike Robot Beauty Not Interested In Dating Shanghai Guys
A life-like robot named Jiajia who's being dubbed as the "robot goddess" impressed people yesterday at a conference in Shanghai by holding simple conversations with members of the public.
The robot was created last year in April by a team of engineers at the University of Science and Technology of China in Hebei Province, who worked on her for around three years like modern day Pygmalions. She was quickly dubbed the most human-like robot to be created and gained a growing fan-base around the Middle Kingdom.
The robot attended a conference in Shanghai yesterday holding basic conversations regarding the weather and was even able to recognize genders along with facial expressions. When asked if she had a boyfriend by some desperate guy, Jiajia quickly replied "I prefer to stay single", probably crushing the dreams of lonely individuals around the country who's last hope was hooking up with robo-geisha. Then again, how would one hook up with here? Would there be a fleshlight down below?
The "Termidater's" creators predict that smart robots such as Jiajia would start to replace workers in various sectors such as restaurants, nursing homes, hospitals and households within ten years. “In 5-10 years there will be a lot of applications for robots in China,” Team leader Chen Xiaoping said. Here's hoping they're more competent than these guys....
