| There are plenty of teamsports offered in Shanghai , Rugby, Football, Softball, Hockey ,Cricket, Aussie Rules ...to name just a few .
I know of 2 bars that sponsor a vast variety of teams One is Big Bamboo on Nanyang Lu , Tongren Lu the other one is O Malleys on ( forgive me I forgot but look them up online, I think it's Omalleysshanghai.com.cn ) . So the best way is to go down to either of the two, sit down for a drink and ask the bar staff about what sports they sponsor and when the teams usually meet and ask for contacts. There you go Long Bar opposite the Portman is sponsoring a football team ( not sure if they sponsor any other sportsteams ) So is Judys Too on Tongren Lu . Another way, especially now during the summer, when the weather is beautiful : Go down to the Sports and Leisure Centre in JinQiao. At the football pitch behind the Carrefour the action usually starts 12 pm , opposite at the school, there's always something on as well, either rugby, cricket or frisbee. if you're interested in football check out this website : eteamz/active.com/SIFL website of one of the expat leagues that plays saturday in Tianma ( about an hour away from downtown Shanghai ) and I'd call it the most sophisticated amateur football league in Shanghai for sure, if not even in the whole of Asia.
