Post subject: Hong Kong-registered company operating in Shanghai
Dear All,
I may be wrong but I have noticed that there are a couple (seems to be a lot) Hong Kong-registered companies operating in Shanghai without a proper local business registration or even a representative office authorization. It looks to be a way to dribble the heavy formalities here and the high fees as well, since for 10,000HKD you can have a company in Hong Kong in matter of days.

What is your opinion about that? Aren't there risks involved in doing so? I myself have a registered HK company and was thinking about setting a RO here next year, but I am considering just skipping this step since the only advantage seems to be the local bank account, which I don't need because managing finance from HK.

Your advices would be much appreciated.
Take care,
Chris
P.S. For a precision I would like to specify that I am talking about companies registered in Hong Kong by "foreigners" from Europe particularly, not Hong Kong residents or mainland Chinese though I guess there is no much difference.
