Are there any fellow rowers out there?

Back in the day, i was a state level rower, but have let the good life get to me too much. I need to get back into it.

Another mate of mine here was also state level. We want to get some other rowers together and head out to Zhu Xia Zhou (not sure how you spell that).

The China national team trains out at first rate facilities out there. 2 x 2000m courses side by side.

If i can get a few likeminded people for a 4 or even 8, i'll make a phone call and see if we can rent some equipment every 2 weeks or so.

You don't need to be a superstar, but we probably can't do any beginners yet.

hi,
I'm spending part of my summer holiday in Shanghai and I was looking to row if I can. Is there any place where I can row ? Do I need to get a club membership or I can just go rent a boat and row ?

thanks

My last power 10 was with beer. I am afraid I am no longer in shape to keep up with the rest of you. What a shame, those were great times.

i'm very interested to row, but since i'm a stranger to shanghai, I don't know anything about rowing over here... Is there a basin or a lake ? Is there a Shanghai rowing club ? I'll be really down to get on the water especially that I have my university's training camp starting right after I'm going back home.

I'll be moving to Shanghai in August and am also interested in learning about any rowing clubs in the city. I've been a rower and coach for about 10 years and would like to continue involvement in the sport. Anyone have any info? Thanks!

Sounds like a bit of momentum here. I'm also new to Shanghai and keen to get out sculling on one of the creeks. Although there seems little info on the web about clubs, so either these are small or at least not well sign posted??
Is there a club at all?
Has anyone seen any crews?
If not is there any likelihood of rowing on the creeks (on the river being impossible!)?
2 yrs of cranking 3 x 6k on the erg is of no interest to me!
