Has anyone heard of this university and how does it compare to Fudan? I'm having trouble finding concrete information on SUFE. I'm looking at studying abroad and I've been to Shanghai once before albeit for about 3 days. Where do most of you recommend going since it's with a program anyways?

It doesn't compare with Fudan but it is considered one of the top tiered institutions in Shanghai comparitively to the other local universities.
Located in Yangpu district not far from Tongji University it's one of the oldest universities in Shanghai
May I ask what you plan on studying? Mandarin? or a specialized course of study?

It depends on what major you want to study.
SUFE is professional for its majors of finance and economics, while Fudan is an integrative university famouse for the liberal arts.

As said above. I did study mandarin there. And found out that the campus for Chinese students and foreigners were different. At least it was at the time.

I'm majoring in Finance and Entr. Mgt with aspirations to open business in China. Hangzhou is another option, but the program didn't seem that great. www.central.edu/abroad
Every study abroad option requires mandarin, but I won't plan on doing intensive/focusing on that. Forgot to mention that I plan on just going one semester right now to keep on track for my program back in the states.
Rayne: Were there interactions between local students and the international students?
I'm just trying to narrow it done right now. Thanks for your replies so far!

Ok, when I was studying there, about a couple of years ago, the Chinese language courses (and dorm for overseas students) were held on a site on Zhongshan Bei Yi Lu, almost opposite SISU (University which is quite well known for students trying to learn English). The only Chinese students you would see are those who would spend their time in the library or those who have evening classes at the campus.
Your degree courses should be on the other campus, which is around Guo Ding Lu. It's better, larger, got more facilities, and of course mainly Chinese students. I don't know if foreigners can live on the campus there though. I had foreign friends who lived on Bei Yi Lu and took bus/bicycle to go to Guo Ding Lu for lectures.
The Chinese students are generally friendly and accessible. (This is applicatble for all universities AFAIK). You just need to go and talk to them.
