| Post subject: Shanghai Disneyland finally approved! |
Just read it in the NY Times:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/04/business/global/04disney.html?hp
Apparently, it will be in Pudong, and the park will be about 100 acres (the total site will be about 1000, with hotels and etc.) The article estimates that it will open in 5-6 years.
Say what you will, but I, for one, am looking forward to bringing my daughter there someday. |

Traffic going to the airport is bad now...hate to see what its like when Disney Shanghai opens up. They have A20 and A30 going into PuDong, and they'll need to build more highway. |

Bigger. Probably more money spent on it (especially considering the local purchasing power.)
It therefore has the potential to be "better"...we'll see... |

I for one have decided it will be awesome, and shall not be persuaded otherwise until such time as I have the opportunity to prove or disprove this for myself. |

Will be better.
Would have hopefully learnt from HK Disney mistakes and besides, they would want to show HK up anyway |

Big news today. Really could it be any worse than Hong Kong?
See that HK are a bit worried already about the competition, and are "taking steps" to improve their facility.
You can see how much money is being thrown at the Expo. in Shanghai.
It WILL be awesome. |

Hold your horses guys, no brick is laid yet. As far as I know, it's not concrete...
In the meantime, enjoy the local theme park. Not much, but least its cheap. |
