Post subject: Chinese/English

I bought a copy of Dreamweaver which from the very start looks like it is an English version, and have been told by the seller it is an English version, yet because maybe my operating system is in Chinese (XP), it sets up to the setting of my computer. I obviously would like to install it in English, but how to keep it from "changing" into Chinese? Or, once it does install as Chinese, how to change it into English?

Thanks.

I think when you install it in Chinese you can change its settings and translate it into English. Well, for much easy thing and if you have so much cash advance you could buy an English XP. You can configure your PC to use two operating system. Cool

Yes, in the future, I will change my operating system into a Linux-based one, but for now, I need to develop my website, and the Dreamweaver issue has to be resolved at the moment.

Thanks for replying.

P.S. I just noted your sneaky little link to your site. Rolling Eyes

You say you have XP - did you try:
Control Panel - Regional and Language Options - Advanced tab - set 'Language for non-Unicode programs' to English

I'm pretty sure this is what programs look at when they install to see what language to install in.

Reboot the computer, and reinstall the software. After it's installed in English you can change this back to Chinese or whatever (if you don't have it as Chinese, sometimes Chinese characters won't display properly, esp. on webpages).

It has worked for me before, but don't hate me if it doesn't work for you! Confused

I just tried it, and it might work, but I don't have the original XP disc at the moment (which they asked), can't find it. So, I think the best option for me to do is wait until I install my English linux-based system, then no need to worry about this.

Thanks.
